The Cembalo


The structure of cembalo (harpsichord) is similar to early fortepiano.


Cembalo makers drew pictures in lid of cembalo, so they made cembalo more beautiful. In the lid, the flowers were drawn.


Also, when musicians press the front of the key, the jack is lifted, and the plectrum plucks the string.


However, musicians can't control sounds, so Cristofori who made cembalos in Italy made the early hammered  cembalo (early fortepiano) with wood and structure of cembalo.
